Specialized kinesiology is a category of new disciplines that study and utilize the body-mind connection. It is a synthesis of ancient oriental principles with recent western discoveries, especially in neuroscience. Specialized kinesiology yields rapid results in improving learning and academic performance, development of intellectual and creative abilities, behavior modification, stress reduction, athletic performance and work performance. As a seminar leader, Ms. Oleska conducted workshops for the Special Education Division of the Board of Education and taught numerous teachers, psychologists and occupational therapists working within the Greater New York school systems. She also worked with employees of American Express, Lucent Technologies, Roland Food Corp., Modell Sporting Goods, Avon, Dragonfly Technologies, and Productivity Tools International as well as with individual enterepreneurs, computer consultants, accountants, sales people, artists and others. Ms. Oleska created a new exercise system called Intelligent Movement, which exercises the brain as well as the body. She specializes in custom designing seminars to meet her clients' needs. She has created original seminars addressing such topics as communication skills and stress reduction, dealing with emotions in the workplace, developing emotional intelligence, addressing diversity, and others. In addition, she has set up programs for training health and education professionals in Poland which resulted in over 10,000 Polish professionals now doing her kind of work. As a lecturer Ms. Oleska speaks frequently at professional conferences throughout North America and Europe and has presented and published numerous papers on such topics as left brain - right brain integration, the effects of movement on intelligence and creativity, and other intelligence related subjects. Ms. Oleska is on the faculties of Baruch College School of Continuing Education, the New York Open Center and the Chesapeake Institute of Play Therapy. She is a former faculty member of the International Kinesiology College in Zurich, Switzerland, and a faculty emeritus of the Educational Kinesiology Foundation in Ventura, California. Ms. Oleska has been interviewed on television and radio about Emotional Intelligence, movement and intelligence, Attention Deficit Disorder and other topics. She has also been interviewed and published by major business publications. Her articles have been translated into Norwegian and French, and published in Great Britain, Norway, France and Belgium. She has recently published a book on improving memory, Memory Moves, and is currently working on a new book dealing with anger management and prevention. Ms. Oleska has worked or studied with many of the pioneers of body-mind integration, including: Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen, Emily Conrad, Elaine de Beauport, and Dr. Carla Hannaford. She has also worked closely with the founders of the major specialized kinesiology disciplines: Paul Dennison, Ph.D., founder of Brain Gym, John Thie, D.C., founder of Touch for Health, and Bruce Dewe, M.D. Ms Oleska comes from Warsaw, Poland, where she obtained a Master's Degree in American Literature. She is fluent in Polish and Russian and speaks Spanish, French and Italian.
